There is a shared risk here. I think that’s why people are amenable to sitting for me for this project. It’s an invitation to go outside of their comfort zone…even for a few minutes, running the risk of being seen in a way that could feel embarrassing. But in the end I see the joy and delight in their faces, like little kids getting away with stealing a cookie from a cookie jar.
We share that special time together before they put their clothes back on and get back to a ‘safer’ more ‘normal’ mode and place in time.
