St. Monica
It is worse to stay where one does not belong at all
than to wander about lost for a while and looking for the psychic and soulful kinship one requires.

I made this self-portrait in Santa Monica, CA.
The statue of Saint Monica.
There is so much healing that seems to be coming from her graceful hands.
When I look at her, I see the quintessential mother, an archetype, a guardian.
She offers a reminder to connect the innocence that exists in who we are to who we choose to be, again, without our identity.
Something about St. Monica asks me to be open, for my own good and for the good of all.
Who am I if I am not my art or music or…?
Just following signs to the next place.
It’s all a big treasure hunt.
Hope you find some treasures this week.
