Balance: a state of equilibrium or equipoise.  Equipoise…isn’t that a lovely sounding word?  I took this photo, “Balancing Act” in New York City. It was one of the department store windows decorated for the holidays and it caught my eye. That is some SERIOUS balancing, when a woman can walk a tight rope in heels!  And, I think some women would agree, that life sometimes feel that precarious, that tricky, when it comes to balancing the different parts of our lives to create… equipoise and calm.  Lately, I’ve been working on this concept of balance; succeeding sometimes and failing miserably others.  Yesterday, I stayed in my pajamas all day and after receiving confirming permission from an outside source (sad, but true, I still need this sometimes) I felt that much more relaxed and allowed myself this much needed down time.  Of course, it lasted till the afternoon when I actually did do some work (in my pajamas) but felt rested enough from the day to do so.  And, today, I feel exponentially better – back on track, filled with the fuel I need to get back in the game.  I feel so great having taken care of myself… something I forget to do from time to time.
